- Description
- The Air Armament Center, Lethal Strike Program Office intends to solicit and award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems (LMIS), Orlando, Florida for a Joint-Air-To Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) to extend the missile?s range by more than 250%. The P3I will most likely affect the missile?s engine (mount, exhaust nozzle, repackage external engine components); fuel system fuel tanks, controller, piping); airframe (forward and aft cover, inlet); A/C integration (OFP update, integration lab testing); and, testing requirements (wind tunnel, static engine, structural, flight). The government intends to award LMIS a new contract for this effort. LMIS is the prime contractor for the JASSM and has the exclusive technical expertise of the missile to accomplish the P3I effort.
