- This acquisition will provide an additional contract extension consisting of a one (1) year basic contract with a one (1) year option to extend the period of performance for the CLS requirements. The period of performance is as follows: from 1 Oct 2003 to 30 Sept 2004 with an option year from 1 Oct 2004 to 30 Sept 2005. To: Boeing Aerospace Operations, Inc., Midwest City, OK, 73110. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304?(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty five-days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestors are acceptable. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested subcontracting opportunities in connection with this acquisition make contact with the firm(s) listed. All potential offerors should contact the buyer/PCO identified herein for additional information and or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. This acquisition is for specialized CLS maintenance, modification and support services required for the E-4B aircraft to include, but not limited to, aircraft programmed depot maintenance, contractor operated and maintained base supply, field service representatives, worldwide field service team capability, and other CLS support required to meet mission requirements for the E-4 fleet. The solicitation date will be 11 Apr 2003. Anticipated contract award date is 30 Sept 2003. Written procedures will be used for this solicitation. Note: An Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in evaluation of proposals nor in the source selection process.
