- Description
- This acquisition is 8a set aside Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract. This acquisition is being synopsized under NAICS Code: 238160, small business size standard of $12,000,000.00. The contractor will furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials for the removal, disposal, repair, and/or replacement of existing shingle, built up, and metal roofing systems. Work may also include, but is not limited to, the removal, repair, and/or replacement of the following components: expansion joints, flashings, fascia boards, cant strips, curbs, gravel stops, soffits, drip edges, gutters, roof drains, downspouts; the temporary removal and reinstallation of rooftop equipment (mechanical units, lightning protection, communication, electrical conduit, pipes, air conditioning lines, etc); repair, restoration, and cleaning of masonry; and the removal and proper disposal of materials containing asbestos and/or lead-based paint. All work under this contract shall be completed in accordance with contract drawings, specifications and warranted for 36 months. Period of Performance and Magnitude: The awarded contract will have one (1) basic year with four (4) one year option periods. The initial construction period will be 365 days. The estimated cost of the proposed project is between $15,000 and $1,000,000 per year. The Government intends to award an IDIQ Contract on a Low Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis. In order to be technically acceptable, the bidder must meet the following minimum: (1) Have 5 years experience in installing built-up, metal and shingle roofing projects with acceptable results (2) Show experience of having successfully completed at least one of each such project within the last 3 years. (3) Provide experienced personnel, especially supervisory personnel, who meet the experience requirements expressed above. Basis for Award: The resulting award will be made to the bidder found to be technically acceptable, based on verification of submitted documentation, and who has provided the lowest overall price to the government. When the solicitation is downloaded, it is important to read the solicitation COMPLETELY, as there are milestones that MUST be met by the prospective offeror in order for their proposal to be considered responsive. There will be no pre-announcement of when the solicitation will be available, however, the issuance date for this solicitation is anticipated to be on or about 1 May 2003, with a closing date 30 days after issuance.
