- Contractor will do the final editing on the draft manuscript, The Department of Defense: Documents on Establishment and Organization, 1978-Present, preparing it for publication by the Government Printing Office. He will edit chapters in Volumes V, VI, and VII in the series History of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and also research and collect material for the updating of the volume, Department of Deense Key Officials, 1947-2000. He will critique the contents of chapters, make suggestions to improve their style, form, and clarity, and correct errors of fact, grammar, punctuation, and footnote citation. In general, the contractor will read and edit chapters while they are still classified, prior to their being submitted for declassification review by the Department of Defense and other government agencies.Te contract will be for a total three year period(an initial one yar period with two one-year options to renew services).
