- DESC: SIC Code 1796 - The General Services Administration is soliciting proposals for Elevator Modernization for the JP Hammerschmidt Federal Building, Fayetteville, AR, Solicitation GS-07P-03-UTC-1007, Project Number RAR20047. The point of contact is Sylvia Chinworth, Contracting Officer, Ark-La-Tex District, 7PEL, 817.978.8496. The purpose of the project is to modernize two (2) existing traction passenger elevators. Work includes, but is not limited to replacing the cab, controls, hoistway doors and wrap entrances, hoist cables, and safety equipment. The estimated cost range is between $387,000 and $473,000. The solicitation issue date will be on or about March 21, 2003. The proposal due date will be on or about April 22, 2003. A pre-proposal conference will be held on or about April 3, 2003. We consider attendance at this conference vital to the preparation of a competitive and cost effective proposal and to understanding the total result desired by the Government. Failure to attend this meeting may not be used as an excuse for omissions and miscalculations in offers. It is again emphasized that is most advantageous for each offeror to have qualified representation at the pre-Proposal Conference. Specifications will be available for downloading from the Internet at www.fedbizopps.gov. These documents will be in a PDF format. All contractors downloading this solicitation shall notify this office via e-mail at sylvia.chinworth@gsa.gov or facsimile at 817.978.7194.
