Description

NA The Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Research Branch, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005 intends to award on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 13.5 with the University of Maryland for the purchase of an upgraded exist ing membership to a Super membership into the CALCE EPSC Industrial Sponsor Program. This membership provides a unique resource base to support the development of military electronic equipment systems, design and manufacturing methods, simulation techniqu es, models, guidelines, and instructional information. This membership allows ARL to collaboratively meet its commitments to rapidly develop guidelines for improved launchability of electronic components of smart munitions. The membership is a proprieta ry service provided by the University of Maryland. The period of performance will consist of a base year of 12 months and four (4) one-year option periods. This announcement is posted for less than 45 days, but in accordance with FAR 5.203, the open per iod represents a reasonable time for interested parties to respond. Award is planned to be made in March 2003. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the agency will consider all proposals received prior to the closing date of t his notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. No telephone requests will be honored.
