Description
NA The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center intends to award a purchase order to GSE Incorporated, a small business from Incline Village, NV, on a basis of other than full and open competition under the authority in FAR Subpart 6.302-1; only one responsibl e source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The acquisition is for research and development work to mature a high speed, multi-fuel diesel engine technology with high power density for airborne applications requiring speci fic weights of 1.5 lbs/hp or better by incorporating an innovative high-speed diesel injection and combustion system that is specifically designed for multi-fuel operation. GSE was awarded a Phase I contract for described work under the Small Business Inn ovation Research (SBIR) program in February 2002. The Phase I contract ended in August 2002 and was completed prior to the exercise of a Phase I option on that contract. GSE is now being considered for a Phase II award under the competitive SBIR program. In anticipation of the Phase II award, the Army is interested in the pursuit of the work originally outlined in the Phase I option. There is no solicitation document available for this acquisition. Interested sources shall make any inquiries about this work no later than 11 Mar 03. Reference note 22, as above shall be awarded utilizing simplified acquisition procedures, quotations received within nine (9) days after date of publication of this synopsis shall be considered by the Army.
