- NA The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement to recondition a propulsion tail shaft. The tail shaft weighs approximately 24,500 lbs. and is 47 feet, 2.07 inches in length. The Contractor?s repair facility shall be approved by the Amer ican Bureau of Shipping. The shaft will be picked up/returned to Harahan, LA. Solicitation DACW29-03-T-0035 is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This requirement is being procured as a firm fixed price contract under FAR 12, Commercial Item. Th e applicable Standard Industrial Code is 3599 and the business size is 500 employees. The NAICS code is 332710. This solicitation is issued as 100% small business set aside. All interested parties may request a complete solicitation package by fax, 504- 862-2892 or email Brenda.D.Welty@mvn02.usace.army.mil. Request for this solicitation shall be in writing, stating the solicitation number, complete company name, point of contact, address, area code and telephone number and facsimile number. No telephone requests will be accepted. Quotes are due on March 12, 2003 at 1530 hours. NOTE: Contractor must be registered with Central Contractor Registration to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DOD activity. Information on registration may be o btained by calling 1-800-334-3414 or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number from Dun & Bradstreet. Registering may take up to three weeks to process. Recommend registering immediately in order to b e eligible for timely award.
