- Description
- The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and qualified supervision to perform work for the project entitled Telephone Switch Site Prep. The work shall be performed at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. This procurement is 100% set-aside for certified HubZone business concerns. The work includes preparing existing space on the first floor of Building No. 2 for a new telephone switch system. The work includes installing electrical raceways (underground concrete encased ductbanks, conduit, open trough, and junction boxes) that will interconnect telephone cabling from the existing telephone switch in Building 2, Rooms 131 and 132 to the new telephone switch location in Room 128. Room 128 improvements include raised access flooring; two (2) floor-mounted chilled water air conditioning units, HVAC piping, room electrical panelboard, power circuits, lighting, and new acoustical tile ceiling. The existing Room 128 wet sprinkler system shall be replaced with a new Inergen style fire suppression system. Some alarm system work is required to relocate an existing push-button key pad and motion detector from the existing computer switch Room 131 to the new Room 128 location. The cost estimate for this project is between $100,000 - $250,000. NAICS 235310 with a small business size standard of $12M applies. The solicitation will be available for download, at no charge, on or about March 24, 2003 at the Business Opportunities System website at www.bos.oamm.va.gov. No hard copy solicitations will be issued. Any amendments will be posted at the website. All bidders are responsible for obtaining all documents. A tentative pre-bid conference has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 2. A definitive date and time for the conference will be contained in the solicitation. All potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
