Description
This requirement will be negotiated solely with Alliant Precision Fuze Company LLC, 4700 Nathan Lane N., Plymouth MN 55442-2512 the manufacturer of the Multi-Event Hard Target Fuze (MEHTF). The Engineering support includes: (1)Working with NSWCDD penetrator designers and NMT test engineer to determine how best to power MEHTFs up until gun launch, and how to assemble MEHTFs in test penetrators, anticipating both forward and aft mounting schemes; (2)Designing and fabricating battery packs or cable assemblies to power test items; (3)Using data from previous tests to program fuzes before testing; (4)Overseeing installation of MEHTFs into penetrators; (5)Attending test events - two tests, requiring up to four days each, onsite at New Mexico Tech's Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center gun range in Socorro, NM; (6)Downloading data onsite when MEHTFs removed from test item; an d (7)If data is not retrievable for some reason, bringing MEHTF to facilities in Minneapolis, MN, for disassembly, troubleshooting, and additional data recovery efforts, in the case of polystyrene-potted fuzes. The Deliverables includes: (1)Fuze power method and mounting scheme consultation; (2)Fuze programming, and installation support; (3)Test support; and (4)Post-test data package and trouble shooting analysis. The period of performance is from date of award through 30 September 2003. Simplified Acquisition Procedures shall be utilized. Interested parties other than ATK must be able to demonstrate in writing by 6 March 2003, their capability to provide the requested services.
