Description
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Advanced Technology Office (ATO) will be hosting an Industry Day Workshop on the topic of Connectionless Networks. Connectionless Networks seeks to develop technology to allow radio networks to send and receive messages without any initial link acquisition and tracking. The approach is to exploit current signal processing components, intelligent (processing and memory intensive) routing, and availability of situational information to demonstrate a total energy savings of at least 100 times typical connection oriented network applications. The Industry Day Workshop will be held at the George Mason University, Arlington Campus Professional Center, Ste 251, 3401 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22201 on 4 March 2003 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The objectives of this workshop are to: (1) discuss technical information related to the topic herein, (2) present current work and future needs related to connectionless networks, and (3) to promote technical exchange among government, industry, academia, and other interested parties. Participating parties are encouraged to explore the possibility of teaming arrangements that develop integrated solutions to this topic area. All discussions and material presented as this Industry Day Workshop will be UNCLASSIFIED. Neither proprietary nor unclassified-but-sensitive information will be discussed or presented at this workshop. Participants are required to register for this event by sending an email to Maureen Mangar, Adroit C4ISR Center, SRA International, Inc., email: mmangar@alexandria.adroit.com, with the following information: (1) Name (2) Company Name (3) Mailing Address (4) Phone Number (5) Email address (6) Citizenship. You may contact Maureen Mangar via telephone at (703)647-1178 if you have any questions about the registration process. Due to limited seating availability, attendance is limited to two representatives from each organization present, preferably one business representative and one technical representative. Attendance is open to U.S. Citizens and Foreign Nationals. U.S. Citizens are required to register by February 27, 2003 to attend this workshop and Foreign Nationals are required to register by February 26, 2003, which includes completion of a DARPA Foreign National Visitor Request Form (DARPA Form 60). Individuals not registered by the times indicated herein may be denied access to this event. Attendance at this workshops is solely voluntary and attendees are required to pay a $20.00 workshop registration fee, and make their own travel and hotel arrangements as applicable. The government will not reimburse attendees for any costs associated with this event. Questions of a technical nature should be addressed to Preston Marshall, DARPA/ATO, email: pmarshall@darpa.mil. The Alternate point of contact for technical questions is Vic Jaroch, email: vjaroch@snap.org. Questions of a contractual nature should be addressed to Anthony E. Cicala, Contracting Officer, DARPA/CMO, email: acicala@darpa.mil. A web site may be established at http://www.darpa.mil/ato/solicit/CN/index.htm at a later time that provides further information related to this topic area. Finally, the government may issue an amendment to Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) BAA03-06 as a result of this Industry Day Workshop requesting proposals from interested parties, but is under no obligation to do so. If the government does choose to amend the existing BAA03-06, those parties not present at this Industry Day Workshop are not prevented in any way from responding to any such amendment.
