- Description
- NASANASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a new CNC Waterjet Cutting machine and system upgrade for a existing waterjet machine. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/ARC intends to purchase a Model 55-50B Intensifier Pump, Model HR44 X Y System, Pump Remote Start Package, Flood Nozzle, Ultra High Pressure Plumbing, Solid Phase Abrasive Delivery Hopper, Spare Parts package, Installation and Operational Training, Second Seat of SigmaNEST True shape, Advanced NC ? Programming Module and Filter, Abrasive Removal System, Closed Loop Polishing System (High Solid Application) with pump sized for intensifier cooling. As part of this purchase the Government will retrofit an older Jet Edge CNC Waterjet with: 1. Aqua Vision Controller (Pedestal Mount), 2. Pump Remote Start Package, 3. Closed Loop Polishing System (High solid). 4. Abrasive Removal System, 5. Installation, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) NASA/Ames intends to purchase the items from Jet Edge. 12070 43rd Street N.E. St Michael, MN 55376-8427 based on the fact that Jet Edge provides the specific items (listed above) required to interface with the existing equipment. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 10:00 a.m. local time on March 5, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency.
