Description
MARKET RESEARCH. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. ? The Marine Corps has a Mission Need Statement for a second-generation thermal imaging systems for the M1A1 Main Battle Tank Gunner?s Primary Sight (GPS). With the upgrade of the GPS the Marine Corps is also investigating the use of a biocular image control unit (BICU) to display the second-generation imagery. The BICU must integrate into the existing Gunner?s Primary Sight (GPS) and not degrade the performance of the M1A1. Responses to this request for information should be for a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) solution that will provide: a. Two cathode array tubes; b. Two drive electronics sets: c. Not be adversely affected by operation of the M1A1 equipment; d. Luminance of 80 foot lamberts; e. Uniformity of 5%; f. Raster size of 31 x 23 mm; g. Green faceplate; h. Weigh less than 28 pounds; i. Withstand the tactical environments of the tank; j. Operate from 18 to 32 volts DC. All vendors having the capability of meeting these requirements are requested to submit copies of relevant documentation in response to this Request for Information at no cost to the Government. Written responses should be submitted not later than close of business 21 March 2003. Firms should also include literature, brochures, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. The submission of the product information should not be construed as a commitment to procure equipment. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. No telephonic responses will be accepted.
