NA The Savannah and Huntsville Districts, US Army Corps of Engineers are coducting an Industry Day to exchange industry knowledge and ideas to assist in development of performance specifications for commissioning and metrics for measurement of performance. S avannah and Huntsville Districts are part of a Pilot Program for Continuous Commissioning. Authorized by Public Law 1-7-1-7, Section 2814 the demonstration program is for five years, with three projects identified per year, commencing FY02. The demonstra tion program will (1) assess the feasibility and desirability of including facility maintenance requirements in construction contracts and (2) determine whether such requirements facilitate reductions in the long-term facility maintenance costs. The FY02 project identified for the Savannah District is the Criminal Investigation Forensic Lab at Fort Gillem, GA. The contract has been awarded and the specification for Continuous Commissioning is available for review at Vol 7.pdf of the solicitation DACA21-02 -R-0008 at the following website: http://ebs.sas.usace.army.mil/ArchivedSolicitations.asp. The date for this Industry Day is 7 March 2003 starting at 10:00 hours. It will be held at the Juliet Gordon Lowe Federal Building located in Savannah Georgia. A det ailed agenda is contained in the Information package that may be downloaded from http://ebs.sas.usace.army.mil/ArchivedSolicitations.asp. Directions to the Federal Building are as follows: From I-16; at the termination of I-16, continue north on Montgomer y Street, then right onto Oglethorpe Avenue. Building is at 100 West Oglethorpe Avenue. Access to the building is from York Street ? one to the (north) left. For security reasons there is no parking at or around the building. Projects identified for FY 03 include a Battle Simulation Center at Fort Lewis, WA; an Armed Forces Reserve Center in Alcoa, TN and a Reserve Center/OMS at Fort Story, VA. Projects identified for FY04 include a Physical Fitness Training Center at Fort Stewart, GA; a Readiness Cente r at Lenoir, NC; and a Reserve Center/OMS at Fort Meade, MD.
