Description
This publication serves as a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the University of Washington Fish Collection (UWFC) to provide permanent archival and dissemination of data on Northeast Pacific fish eggs, larvae, and adults collected during National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)surveys and research. The contract will also include an update of the UWFC specimen archival internet database and maintenance of a catalog system database. One to three students or staff per year shall participate in Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC)fisheries surveys. Period of performance will begin on date of contract award and will continue for a period of up to four (4) years, dependent on availability of funding. To the best of the Government's knowledge and capability, there are no other institutions or companies that exist in the U.S. who can meet all needed requirements. Such requirements include that specimens be within commuting distance of the Sand Point Facility, specimens must be stored in an archival scientific collection adjacent to the geographic area in which it came from and remain readily accessible to the scientific community, and the facility must have the specific capability of storing early life history specimens, as well as the ability to store adult specimens. The NAICS code for this procurement is 514120. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement in writing to Kristina Loesell, NOAA, WASC, 7600 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115, or via email at Kristina.M.Loesell@noaa.gov This notice may represent the only official notice of the intended contract award.
