Description

NA The project requires the construction of an offshore artificial reef with limestone boulders about 1 mile south of Ft. Pierce Inlet. The reef will be constructed within three areas totaling approximately 4.8 acres located 1,400 feet to 2,500 feet offshore in 8 to 15 feet of water. It will be built on a single layer of quarried limestone boulders between 3.5 and 5 feet in diameter using an estimated quantity of 34,000 tons. The boulders will be placed in a manner that mimics existing nearby reef formation s. The minimum density of the boulders shall be 135 pcf. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The estimated performance period is 135 calendar days. The solicitation will be issued on or about 28 Februa ry 2003 and bid opening will be on or about 15 April 2003. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only. Coast Guard Certification will be required in accordance with the Seagoing Barge Act. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered. There will be a price preference for identified HUBZ one small business concerns that comply with the requirements of the solicitation as stipulated in FAR 19.1307.
