- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Spectra Physics Lasers, 1335 Terra Bella Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94039 for a new replacement plasma tube, #028-25W / 7W UV PN 0028-2570. The replacement tube will be used in an existing Spectra Physics Argon Laser. The contractor will provide installation of the plasma tube and its upgrades, the SA-587-01-P Z Lok (stand alone includes prism) and the 588-01 J Lok Visible (450-550 nm). This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). FAR Clauses in full text are at http://www.ARNET.gov/far/ . This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. No award will be made on the basis of requests in response to this notice. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
