- Description
- Provide radiology services for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Outpatient Clinic located in Huntsville, Alabama. The Contractor will provide basic routine and emergency radiology services including furnishing film, providing x-ray technician=92s services, developing film and preparing temporary film jacket (jackets to be supplied by VA), radiologist interpretation of exams, transcription of report and transfer of report in electronic format to the Birmingham Veteran Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC). Contractor shall participate in appropriate conferences related to patient care and teaching programs. In the event the contractors x-ray equipment or staff render these services undeliverable, comparable alternate x-ray service will be provided for VA clinic patients at no additional charge to the Government. All subcontractors must be approved by BVAMC. All radiology requests will be ordered through utilization of the DHCP computer system. Any radiology procedure is not to be performed by the contractor without a valid electronic order. Hours of operation must be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. excluding nationally recognized holidays. Estimated workload will be approximately 12 exams per day of operation. NOTE: VA reserves the right to request additional exams that are within the capacity of the contractor=92s services. The Contractor, all branch offices and subcontractors must be Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accredited or meet the requirements of JCAHO. The contractor shall furnish documentation of JCAHO accreditation with the proposal/bid and upon request by the contracting officer at any time throughout the term of the contract. The Contractor shall also comply with their own policies and personnel qualifications, which must be reviewed and approved by the appropriate oversight committee and COTR. NOTICE:=20 Anticipated issue date is February 4, 2003.
