Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates making a firm fixed price award to provide genotyping (also referred to as DNA fingerprinting) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates in support of state and local tuberculosis (TB) control programs in the United States. The long term goal will be to provide genotyping for one isolate from each newly diagnosed, culture positive case of TB in the US. The period of performance is planned to be from May 2003 through April 2008. (Note: The government reserves the right to make multiple awards to ensure geographic and demographic representation). Absolute criteria: -Contractor must have use of a BSL-3 facility for handling M. tuberculosis, either onsite or within five (5) miles of the contractor's facility - Contractor must provide training and medical surveillance for al employees handling viable M. tuberculosis - Some genotyping activities may fall under CLIA regulations. Contractor must have a documented relationship with a CLIA approved laboratory that can provide oversight for regulated testing. All responsible sources that meet the above requirements may submit a proposal which shall be considered by CDC. The solicitation will be available on or about February 3, 2003. The date specified for receipt of offers will be approximately forty five (45) days after the solicitation issue date. Correcpondence addressing the RFP must cite, RFP 2003-N-00706. PLEASE NOTE: THE RFP WILL BE ISSUED ELECTRONICALLY and will be posted on or about February 3, 2003 via the Government Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov/. POTENTIAL OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR COPY OF THE RFP AND ALL CORRRESPONDENCEE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SOLICITATION.
