- Description
- This is an intent to award sole source to H.A.B.I.T. Research Ltd., I-203 Harbour Road, Victoria, BC, Canada V9A3S2. See Note 22. The requirements for this award include up to 11 adult and 11 juvenile GPS/ARGOS satellite collars for lynx research. Both the adult and the juvenile collars must obtain approximately 12 locations per day; the ARGOS transmitter must transmit the GPS locations as sensor data. This allows the lynx to be monitored in real time. The GPS/ARGOS satellite transmitter must have a life of at least one year. The collars will include a 3-stage, micro-processor-controlled, high power, slow-pulse, conventional VHF transmitter that also lasts at least one year. The collars must be ergonomic with the satellite package fitting snug and fusiforn to the animal's neck. Adulst collars should weigh approximately 225 grams and the juvenile collars should weigh approximately 150 grams. Note 22: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government indends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the rquirement or submit proposals. Ths notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received wihtin 45 days (30 days if award is issued under a basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not ot compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered soley for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
