- Description
- The United States Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistic Command, Pacific (vpl-1) proposes to contract the dockside repairs of USCGC LONG ISLAND (WPB 1342), a 110? patrol boat, homeported in San Diego, CA. All work shall be performed onboard the USCGC LONG ISLAND , during the period of 07 April 2003 through 17 May 2003. Work items to include: Production Control, Gantt Bar chart provide, tanks (MP fuel stowage & overflow) clean and inspect, watertight door and hatch renewals, exhaust flapper valve replacement, electric motor overhaul, steering controller replacement, pressure gauges and thermometers (CRITICAL) calibration, pyrometers and thermocouples (critical) calibration, tachometers (critical) calibrate; vents (engine room) commercial clean, vents (galley) commercial clean, AFT berthing ventilation mods, potable water tank structural reinforcements, rigid hull inflatable boat davit level 3 overhaul, grey water holding tank clean & inspect, sewage vacuum collection tank clean and inspect, OWS replacement, deck replacement/fuel tank top preservation, temporary services dockside provide and tank top repair. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on or about 30 January 2003. Potential offerors are advised that the solicitation, specifications and other notifications can also be accessed on the web site: www.eps.gov. The solicitation is issued in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsive sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. For Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantage Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
