Description

NA The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command intends to procure sole source from Teradyne Incorporated, North Reading MA, Digital Test Units and Spares. These Digital Test Unit and Spares are commercial parts and should be procured under FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The Digital Test Unit and Spares must be procured from Teradyne, Inc., as they will be used in the production of the Electro-Optics Test Facility (EOTF) and furnished to Northrop Grumman Corporation as Government Equipment (GFE). The Teradyne design has already been incorporated in the production of the EOTFs. Northrop Grumman Corp.(NGC) chose Teradyne as the source of supply for the digital boards for the EOTF based on their reliability record in the industry. The Digital Test Unit must adhere to form, fit and function of original equipment. In addition, these boards must be backwards compatible with the previous designed Northrop Grumman circuit boards in the Base Shop Test Facility (BSTF). The design of the Digital Test U nit is proprietary to Teradyne and therefore, adequate description/techniques are not available for a competitive procurement. No other source exist that could produce Teradyne's unique and proprietary design utilized in the EOTF. The required Digital Test Unit quantity, part number follows: 5 ea Teradyne M-920-80 Digital Test Units and 9 ea sets of Spares. See Numbered Notes 22.
