Description
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), requires two (2) traffic generators for general purpose testing in the interoperability laboratory with the following specifications: Consist of a rack mountable chassis with 2 or more slots for interface cards. Support the following interfaces: 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, OC-3 POS, OC-12 POS, OC-48 POS. Include a GPS-synchronized time source for accurate latency measurements on distributed networks. Make real time latency and packet loss measurements and log these data to an ASCII flat file. Be capable of capturing network traffic and replaying it; the capture buffer shall be able to store 1000 or more packets. Be capable of generating and decoding IPv6 compliant packets. Decode at the ISO physical, data link, and network layers of all of the packets it can generate. Be capable of generating more than 100 simultaneous data streams. Be capable of building these data streams by specifying wildcards in a packet's fields. Have an editing tool for the construction of packets from the ground up (i.e. at bit level). Utilities or functionality which simplifies this process are a plus. Generate source streams at full line rate in duplex operation. Generate in continuous single burst, multiburst or continuous multiburst modes. Be controlled by Windows 2000 or Windows XP Pro compatible software with a graphical user interface. Be remotely accessible to the client application via Ethernet. Support multiple users on the same chassis. Support the TCL scripting language. Warranty - At least 1 year on all hardware and 3 months on software. Delivery shall be 30 days after receipt of order. It is not the intent of the Government to issue a separate solicitation for this requirement. Interested sources proposing to supply these items must submit a written qualification statement by fax, clearly establishing capability to meet the above requirements. Faxed quotes are acceptable and should be sent to 303-497-3163. Quotes are required by February 3, 2003. The award decision will be based upon the best value to the Government, with technical merit being more important than price. This announcement/solicitation is being issued in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13 (NTE $100,000). FAR Clauses in full text are at http://www.ARNET.gov/far/. Agency level protest procedures can be found at http://oamweb.osec.doc.gov/conops/#REFERENCE .
