Description
Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to renovate the playground areas at the Child Development Center on Coast Guard Island. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: A. Base Bid Toddler and Infant Areas: 1. Remove existing playground structure as indicated. 2. Remove existing surfacing material, including sand, sod and tan bark, and regrade areas to receive new surfacing. 3. Install new surfacing, including coarse sand, sod, and poured in place playground surfacing in areas as indicated. 4. Install new playground equipment, as indicated. 5. Modify existing sprinkler system as specified. B. Base Bid Perimeter Fencing: 1. Remove existing 4 foot high chain fence and install new 6 foot high chain link fence where indicated. 2. Add 2 foot high chain link fencing to the top of the existing 4 foot high brick walls, as indicated. C. Additive Bid: Preschool Area 1. Remove existing playground structures as indicated. 2. Remove existing surfacing materials, including sand, sod, and tan bark, and regrade areas to receive new surfacing. 3. Install new surfacing, including coarse sand, sod, and poured in place playground surfacing in areas as indicated. 4. Install new playground equipment as indicated. 5. Modify existing sprinkler system as specified. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small business participation. The applicable NAICS code is 235990. Small Business size standard is $12 million. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered. The solicitation can be downloaded from (http://www.eps.gov/) on approximately 14 Jan 2003. If it does not appear on that date, please check back daily. Due dates for quotes will be 2 Feb 2003. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000.00 with interest at the prime rate.
