- Description
- NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for follow-on services to establish and operate the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC). These services are currently provided under an existing contract that expires in 2003. The follow-on contract will have a potential period of performance of 5 years, including basic and option periods. The purpose of the NIAC is to provide an independent, open forum for the analysis and definition of space and aeronautics advanced concepts to compliment the advanced concepts activities conducted within NASA. The contractor will manage the solicitation, selection, award and progress of concept study contracts. The provisions and clauses in the RFP are those in effect through FAC 01-10. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541330 and $4M, respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFP5-60028-GBS is on or about 1/16/03 with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about 2/18/03. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
