Description
The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Request for Proposal for a firm fixed-price construction contract for the Hydraulic Turbine Generator Rehabilitation at Parker Dam Powerplant. Parker Dam Powerplant is located approximately 12 miles northeast of the town of Parker, Arizona in San Bernardino County, California. The principal components of the work to be performed include, but are not necessarily limited to: (1) removing and disposing of one turbine runner from unit 3; (2) furnishing and installing one replacement runner and cone for unit 3 including model testing; (3) furnishing and installing stationary wear rings and furnishing spare stationary wear rings; (4) removing, refurbishing, and reinstaling the existing wicket gates; (5) removing and disposing of one generator armature winding; (6) furnishing, installing, and testing one generator armature winding; (7) removing and disposing of one exciter field control assembly and control cabling; (8) modifying one existing rotating exciter, including removal and replacement of rotor field leads; (9) furnishing and installing one full static digital excitation system consisting of power, control and logic modules, relays, speed switches, power transformers, fuses, disconnect switches, breakers, current and potential transformers, transducers and all new power and control cables; (10) refurbishing and upgrading the existing high pressure carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems for all four main generating units; (11) furnishing drawings and data; and (12) conducting training sessions on site for Government personnel on the operation and maintenance of the new excitation equipment. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 for the basic requirements and more than $10,000,000 for the option requirements. It is estimated the solicitation will be posted to this website on approximately February 03, 2003, and proposals will be due on approximately April 03, 2003. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed. The drawings are not available electronically and must be mailed separately from the solicitation. There is no charge for the first set of drawings. Requests for the solicitation must be made through the FedBizOps website and requests for drawings should be submitted by e-mail to Amy Dahlke at Adahlke@lc.usbr.gov or by fax at 702-293-8499 no later than February 03, 2003. Requests for the drawings must include the firm's name, address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, Duns number and tax identification number. A pre-proposal conference and site visit is tentatively scheduled for February 18, 2003. Details concerning the events and how to register for them will be in Section L of the solicitation. The NAICS Code for this action is 335311. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 15.
