Description
This is a request for information only. There is no solicitation package available. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst is seeking sources that may be capable of providing an iron phosphate spray system for batch pretreatment operations on bare metal components prior to powder coating. The iron phosphate system shall comprise an Aaladin 8430 Electric iron phosphatizing unit, or equivalent, in addition to a containment booth with wastewater treatment tank integral to the floor for holding all of the wastewater generated and for neutralization prior to discharge. A pump shall be included in order to pump the wastewater out when the tank is full. The system shall be designed to be placed on an existing concrete floor with no excavation whatsoever required. The largest component to be processed shall measure 9' w x 28' l. The booth shall include a crane slot for an overhead conveyor. Ventilation shall be provided capable of replacing the entire interior volume of air within a 3 minute interval. Any and all exhaust stacks shall include filters to return the vapor to the wastewater holding tank. Sufficient lighting shall be provided to adequately illuminate the interior of the booth during spraying operations. An air hose shall be provided for manual drying of the components after treatment. It is expected that the electrical requirement shall be for 460V, 3 ph power. Standard pressure compressed air requirements and water requirements are also anticipated. Please discuss the utility requirements of your equipment if they deviate from these figures as well as the interior and exterior dimensions and layout of the booth in your response to this RFI. Brochure type photos would be helpful, as well as an approximate price and General Service Administration (GSA) availability. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any costs incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. Responses should cite the RFI Number N68335-03-RFI-0031 and be addressed to the attention of Mrs. Joyce Discenza, Code 25222JD, Hwy. 547, Bldg. 562-1, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, N.J. 08733-5104. All responses are due by 31 December 2002.
