Description

NA Notice of intent to award a sole source contract. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract under the auspices of FAR Part 12, to Point Blank Body Armor, Inc., Oakland Park, Florida for seventy-two (72) sets of body armor. The Government's requirement for the body armor sets has to meet the MILSPEC for the below listed National Stock Numbers (NSN): NSN# 8470-01-491-8071, Body Armor Set Interceptor, OTV Desert Camo, Model Z7060, Size-small, Quantity -4; NSN# 8470-01-491-8078, Body Armor Set Interceptor, OTV Desert Camo, Model Z7060, Size-medium, Quantity -21; NSN# 8470-01-491-8080, Body Armor Set Interceptor, OTV Desert Camo, Model Z7060, Size-large, Quantity -32; NSN# 8470-01-491-8081, Body Armor Se t Interceptor, OTV Desert Camo, Model Z7060, Size X-large, Quantity-15. Body Armor sets must be delivered by January 2, 2003. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties have six (6) days from the date of publication of this Syno psis, to submit in writing, to the identified point of contact, clear and convincing evidence of their qualifications and/or capabilities. Such qualifications and/or capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Note that prior to award, the contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Responses received after six (6) days, or without the required information, will be considered non-responsi ve to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not conduct this effort as a full-and-open competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. All inquires must be submitted in writing to the address or facsimile number stated herein and to the attention of Ms. Charmaine F. Demercado, Contract Specialist. Responses to this notice must be received by close of business, December 18, 2002. Due to the immediate need of the body armor sets, responses must include your business name, point of contact, address, telephone number with area code, NSN#, item description, cost proposal, and stated delivery date. Telephone requests or inquires will not be accepted. Req uests are to be faxed to (703) 767-4691. If no responses are received, an award will be made Point Blank Body Armor, Inc.
