Description

The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Request for Proposal for a firm fixed-price construction contract for the Nimbus Fish Barrier Replacement. The work is located at Nimbus Fish Hatchery, approximately 15 miles east of Sacramento, California in Sacramento County. The NAICS Code is: 234990. Award of a contract will be made in accordance with HUBZone Price Evaluation Preference procedures as described in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.1307. FAR Clause 52.219-4, Notice of Price Evaluation Preference for HUBZone contractors are listed on the Small Business Administration's List of Qualified Small Business Concerns at website http://www.sba.gov/hubzone. This magnitude of this construction project is estimated between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The principal components of the work to be performed include the following: A. Removing, stockpiling, and replacing existing riprap. B. Removing fish barrier structure. C. Removing fish ladder inlet structure. D. Constructing new fish ladder inlet structure. E. Excavating for access ramp and bypass structure. F. Diversion and care of stream during construction. G. Furnishing and placing backfill concrete for fish barrier crest and bypass structure foundation. H. Furnishing and placing reinforced concrete for fish barrier crest, bypass structure, fish ladder inlet structure, and pad for compressor house. I. Furnishing and erecting precast, prestressed concrete bridge beams. J. Furnishing and erecting open grid steel deck for juvenile channel crossing. Designing, furnishing, and installing removable ramp for maintenance traffic. K. Removing existing cableway, pickets, picket frames, and picket storage system. L. Constructing plant precast concrete compressor house. M. Constructing concrete access ramp. N. Furnishing and installing fabricated metalwork. O. Designing, furnishing, and installing pneumatically-operated crest and bypass picket gates. P. Furnishing and installing bulkhead gates, seats, and guides for bypass channel. Q. Furnishing and installing weirs and guides for fish ladder inlet and bypass channel. R. Furnishing and installing sluice gates for fish ladder inlet. S. Furnishing and installing electrical system. Solicitation 03SP200011 will be posted at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about January 13, 2003. The estimated date for receipt of proposals is February 14, 2003. Furthermore, the estimated date for the preproposal conference is scheduled for January 30, 2003. Details concerning the preproposal conference and how to register will be in Section L of the solicitation. The solicitation and specifications must be downloaded at the above site, with the drawings being mailed to you by hardcopy. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed with the exception of the drawings.
