NA 12th Annual TACOM/Industry Logistic Symposium ?Logistics Transformation ? Insuring Relevance for the 21st Century Soldier? Acknowledgement: This event is sponsored by the US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) with administrative support provided by the Michigan Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Scope and Objective: The 12th annual TACOM/ Industry Logistics Symposium will be held 8-10 April 2003 at the Northfield Hilton in Troy, MI. This Logistics Symposium brings together Government and Industry personnel to discuss issues and concerns relevant to the constant changes in the logistics environment. This forum affords the opportunity for networking and en-hancing lines of communication in a non-adversarial atmosphere. Agenda: The Department of Army is transform-ing its force to be more tactically and strategi-cally responsive across the global spectrum. There is an ongoing revolution in logistical proc-esses to meet the goals of the transformation. There are many chan ges in how equipment will be maintained and sus-tained. The Army will provide ?factory to foxhole support?, integrated global support and improved logistics situational awareness for the 21st Century Soldier. The speakers will dis-cuss the Logistics Tran sformation Plan, Strategic Readiness, Performance Based Logistics, the Objective Force, Future Combat Systems and Joint Warfighting. The topics will also cover the Defense Logistics Agency's global support to the Army Transformation, the impact of strateg ic readiness on war planning and the 21st Century Truck Partnership. There will be representatives from the government and industry briefing on the logistical and technical support required to meet the current Department of Defense vision and goals. The sympo-sium will offer formal presentations, workshops, ex-hibits, demonstrations and open discussion. Symposium Objective: Address a broad range of logistics issues and explore technologies that will transform the U.S. Army for the 21st Century. The Symposium will:  review and demonstrate emerging technology  showcase world-class products and services  identify needs for new management tools, re-search and products  review management and technical solutions now in design and development Who should attend:  logisticians, inventory specialists and engi-neers  maintenance and supply managers  production, process and information system specialists  commercial product support providers  researchers and product development repre-sentatives  liaison officers  everyone interested in successful DOD logistics operations Dress Code: Military, class ?A? or ?B?. The rates are $89.00 for government and $119.00 for industry. In order to ensure the dis-counted rate please make reservations early and ask for the symposium reserved room block which will be held for the TACOM/ Industry Logistics Symposium un-til March 28th. Government employees planning to stay at the Northfield Hilton who are unable to reserve a room at the gov-ern-ment rate can be reimbursed by sub-mitting an Actual Ex-pense Request for reim-bursement to the ir travel office. Exhibit Opportunities: TACOM and NDIA invite you to exhibit at the 12th annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Sympo-sium. This symposium continues to be a world class event because of the commitment from government and industry representatives. If your organi zation or company is involved in some aspect of logistics, you should take this opportunity to exhibit your products and services. As we did last year, we expect to sell out all exhibition booth and tabletop spaces. Each 8' by 10' booth will include bac k and side drapes. The fee is $925.00 for the entire symposium. This $925.00 fee will include the availability, on a first come, first served basis, of a business meeting room for exhibitors. Six-foot tabletop space will be available for $300.00 and pos ter display areas for $100.00 for the duration of the symposium. Outdoor dis-plays are $925.00 (depending on space requirements). All exhibition space is allocated on a first come, first served basis. NDIA is offering vendor representatives a discounted regis-tration fee of $170.00 a person for one or two repre-sentatives per booth or outdoor exhibit. This fee will cover all sympo-sium sessions, meals, snacks, and reception. A booth or out-door space vendor can also register a maximum of four addi-tio nal representatives per booth or outdoor space for $130.00 for each person. Tabletop vendors may register one person per table at the $170 fee and two persons at the $130.00 fee. The $130.00 fee will encompass meals, snacks, and the recep-tion (no sympos ium sessions).
