Description
MARKET SURVEY REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Reference No: WMOK 03-002 Description Sources Sought/Request for Information. The Air armament Center, Combat Support Systems, System Program Office at Eglin AFB, FL seeks sources and information for an Air-droppable fire suppression/crash/rescue capability. This capability will meet mission needs for a lightweight, self-propelled fire fighting platform/agent dispensing system that can be made air-droppable. Focus is to provide airborne fire fighter elements a first-in capability to provide fire protection/crash rescue for helicopter and cargo aircraft launch and recovery operations. This capability shall be based on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) (4x4, 4x6, 6x6) platform and be multi-fuel capable. The capability shall be operated by one individual and be able to transport two firefighters wearing full bunker gear/chemical protection ensembles. The system shall be lightweight, air transportable, and have capability to draft from an alternative water source. The fire suppression system shall contain a fire pump capable of delivering suppression agent/AFFF through a single hose line. Pump must operate at a pressure of between 1200-1500 psi with a dispensing capability of a minimum of 15 gpm. The pump shall have the capability of being adaptable to a larger fire suppression/AFFF storage tank if mounted on vehicles other than the original platform ? in a pickup truck for instance. NAICS Code: 336112; Light Truck and Utility Vehicle Manufacturing; Size Standard: 1,000. ?In order to promote an environment of teaming/partnering for a possible new acquisition, we are involving industry in the very early development of this acquisition. In order to initiate an exchange of information, we are requesting that interested parties submit any or both of the following: (1) an up to 10 page paper, with pictures/sketches if applicable, that identifies existing solutions for such a unit, and (2) product brochures or marketing materials. Responses to this Market Survey/Request for Information should be mailed to AAC/WMO, 314 W. Choctawhatchee Ave, Suite 104, Attn: Mr Vince Consentino or MSgt Tony Roy, Eglin AFB FL 32542-5717. This Market Survey/Request for Information is for planning purposes only, and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Market Survey/Request for Information or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the submission of responses to this Market Survey/Request for Information and the Government use of this information. The information you provide may be utilized by the AF in developing its acquisition strategy and in it's Statement of Work/Statement of Objectives and Performance Specifications. The information resulting from this RFI may be included in one or more RFPs, which will be released to industry. Therefore, you are encouraged to respond with information not constrained by proprietary data rights. However, if proprietary data is included in your reply, please mark it appropriately."
