- Description
- Project 502-03-103 Architect Engineer Services to design and furnish plans specifications and construction period services for Renovate Food Service Preparation Area, Building 4 at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana. Work includes but not limited to design and construction period services to re-design, renovation and/or replacement of food preparation and service lines, walk-in coolers and freezers, dish washing areas, administrative offices, staff locker facilities, loading dock, storage rooms, and other kitchen support space to improve work flow and space utilization. Work to include replacement of floor surfaces throughout the building and waterproofing membranes in the kitchen area, wall finishes, lighting, and ceiling finishes, electrical, asbestos abatement, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and other mechanical systems. Work to include improvements to center stairwell, correction of egress problems and installation of automatic doors. Project will also include relocation of administrative offices from first floor to basement and of storage spaces from basement to first floor. Design shall address providing new utility connections for new food preparation equipment to be provided by the VA A/E selection based on recent specialized experience, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to the project and location. Area of consideration is restricted to A/E firms and consultants within a 100 mile radius driving distance from 2495 Shreveport Highway, Pineville, Louisiana. This notice issued subject to availability of funds and is not a request for proposal. The estimated construction cost range is $500,000 to $1,000,000.
