Description
The following questions were submitted following the site visit held on 2 Dec 2002. Since there was a delay in answering and posting these question the close date of this solicitation will be moved to 18 Dec 02. Questions are as follows: 1. Whiteboard move responsibility of Bidder or will be done prior to AV work? A. Whiteboard move done by owner (USAF) prior to work. 2. Rear screen covering responsibility of Bidder or will it be done prior to AV work? A. Rear screen covering done by owner (USAF) prior to work. 3. Need model #'s of Crestron units controller touch pad RF remote. This will make sure we have compatibility and also if there are any parts you already have that aren't required for purchase. A. Crestron controller CNMSX-AV, Crestron touch pad CTL-1600 with BB-1600 back box mount, Crestron RF remote CNWM wireless mouse, Crestron CNRFGWA 1 way RF receiver. 4. Lectern model number (I think it's KSL L-100) A. Lectern model KSI L-100-48/32 Statesman lectern model in red oak finish (approximate dimensions 48 inch w x 32 inch d x 48 inch h.) to include: RR-M 18 space rack mount (on presenter?s right), CPU Tower space for two (2) CPU towers without divider (on presenter?s left), Shelf area above CPU towers to be open (no rack rail), Key-fix fixed height keyboard shelf with a swing out mouse shelf, PO Door locking pocket doors (will work up to work surface), Rem-Pnl removable front locking access panel for lower section, LCD clock, HLD12 12 inch halogen gooseneck light, EL-RR 6 outlet power strip with surge protection, Grommet hole on right side on base near power outlet, Cut out for Extron RGB 500 (MUST BE PANEL MOUNTED), Cutout for Crestron touch panel CTL-1600 (MUST BE PANEL MOUNTED), Cutouts for 2 (two) interactive WACOM Cintiq touch tablets, Two step work surface, VTC system patch panel, Constructed from A-1 grade plain sliced red oak with standard KSI finish, 5. Will the 2 61 inch Plasma displays always have the same display or will they sometimes be different? A. 61-inch plasma displays will sometimes have different displays. 6. Need model number and display specifics for 42 inch Plasma (what native resolution what connections) A. 42-inch plasma NEC 42-inch plasma display model number 42MP3, PN: PX-42VM3A with flat wall mount (FWMK). 7. Lighting what fixtures will need control and should lighting control be specified as an option? A. No lighting controls required. 8. Cable management is there conduit in the walls for cabling or will there be a requirement for panduit? A. No in wall conduit: panduit is required. 9. Annotation software for the Cintiqs You can annotate with PowerPoint, Net meeting, or some Office XP applications. Another option is a piece of software called EZ Meetings. Please let me know if you require any software in addition to what you currently have. A. SmartMeeting Version 1.0 10. You mention the VTC Main as a source, are you referring to a Video Teleconferencing Codec? If so what make and model number? This is needed for control of that product. A. Yes; PictureTel 4500 Concord 11. You state that the system shall be designed to allow for growth and upgrade. How many open inputs and outputs do you want configured into the proposal? A. 2 open inputs and 2 outputs configured for growth 12. What size of backlit two-way Touchpanel is requested? A. Touchpanel 6 inch Crestron CTL01600 with BB-1600 back box mount. 13. You mention the audio system will utilize the existing house audio system; do you have an equipment list for that and/or a line drawing to help with the integration of the audio? A. Microphones AT-853PWX, mixer AT-MX351; amplifier line mixer that is RS232 controllable is to be provided by owner. 14. What is the model number for the Extron Laptop Interface and model number for mounting hardware? A. Extron Laptop Interface RBG 500 15. What is the model number for the Extron interface for the dedicated PCs? A. Extron PC interface RGB 109xi. 16. What length would you like the 90-degree laptop cable to be? 3 ft, 6 ft or 12 ft Are you looking for the 200 MHz Extron Crosspoint or the 425 MHz version? A. 12-inch laptop cable. 17. Can you provide a sample program or images of the current program to ease the re-learning of the Touchpanel by the presenter? A. 425 MHz version of the Extron Crosspoint. 18. Can you clarify what the If-Then Logic String, or give an example? Which Extron Scan Converter is desired? A. No sample program or images available. 19. Are we to achieve this with only one (1) Extron Crosspoint or would you like to utilize an additional composite switcher to allow for future growth? A. Extron Scan Converter not required already available in VTC cart (USAF provided). 20. I did not see anywhere about if you wanted to have a 15-inch or 12 inch Touchpanel, if you wanted the Touchpanel to be able to preview before sending, (this is a nice feature with multiple monitors), if preview is desired would you like High Resolution as well as Composite? A.15 inch WACOMM Cintiq touchpanel; yes we want to be able to preview before sending; require High Resolution as well as Composite preview. 21. Have you looked at the new Crestron DVP-4 this has some really neat features? You can display up to 4 images simultaneously and control the PCs from a touch screen overlay such as Smart Technologies Matisse. A. Yes, go with Crestron DVP-4. 22. Is there an existing program that needs to be referenced when the new program is written? If so do you have the old program? A. Not available 23. Every make and model number for the owner provided equipment will need to be provided if it is to be included into the program, is there a list of owner furnished equipment? A. Owner (USAF) provided equipment is as follows: 1 each Panasonic DVD/VCR player, Number PV-D4762 2 each Panasonic Remote Camera Number E600 with Pan/Tilt Assembly 1 each PictureTel 4500 Concord VTC w S4000 CODEC 2 each Dell Dimension 8200 computers 1 each AudioTechnica AT-MX351 automatic mixer 24. What size of Crestron panel do you want? Is it wired or wireless? A. Crestron CTL-1600 touchpanel; wired with BB-1600 back box mount. 25. Do you want the plasma displays controlled RS232(recommended) or IR? A. Plasma displays controlled RS232. 26. How many mics do you want connected into the mixer? A. 4 microphones connected to the mixer. 27. Do you want the mics to go thorough the in house audio as well as to the remote or to the remote site only? A. In house as well as to the remote. 28. Does your Picture Tel VTC camera that is going into the matrix switcher does it require a break out cable for video and control? Are you actually using the Picture Tel camera for video to the remote site or are you using it for the IR signal built into the camera? A. Yes break out cable required; yes using PictureTel camera for video to remote site and using it for the IR signal. 29. What resolution do you want your plasma display to be and do you want the plasma display that gives you the option to display data and video simultaneously on one screen? A. 2 each Pioneer 61 inch plasma screens model number PDP-610MX (provided by bidder) with flat wall mount kit; resolution 1024 x 768; 1 (one) each NEC plasma screen model number 42MP3 with flat mount model number FWMK. Yes to capability to simultaneously display video and data. Display capability. 30. Will both computers be housed in the lectern? If so do you need two keyboard drawers with mouse extensions? A. Yes both computers housed in lectern; one keyboard drawer with keyboard/mouse switch able via KVM switch. 31. Will the Codec, two computers, amplifier, mixer, Codec, matrix switcher, DVD/VCR combo, 2 Scalers, down converter, Crestron system, power conditioner, 2 Wacom monitors and Crestron touchpanel all be housed in the lectern? A. Yes, all equipment housed in the lectern 32. What are the requirements for the new lectern? A. KSI L-100-48/32 Statesman model in red oak finish 33. Do you need a flip up laptop shelf or laptop drawer? A. Shelf mounted, flip up laptop shelf. 34. Do you want your VTC system to be set up for dual display? If so, many times a Picture Tel system has SVHS out for the second monitor is this true about your VTC system? If so the signal will need to be addressed since we are running composite video in and out of the matrix switcher. A. Yes VTC set up for dual display; all composite signal 35. Since we will be running cables to another room we need to know if you have a plenum ceiling? A. Owner (USAF) to install cables. 36. Do you have specific requirements for the power conditioner? A. ONEAC 900 uninterrupted power supply.
