- This is a combined synopsis /solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) No.N45433. The solicitation clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 7389 and the North American Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541990. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issuing a Request for Quote on a sole source basis to Canberra Industries, Inc for the following service: Renewal of Hardware/Software Maintenance for Systems 97-0705 and 97-0706, Hardware Agreement Number 287 and Software Agreement Number S738. The renewal will consist of Advanced Service Agreement- Second Business Day On-site Response Time, Monday through Friday, On-Site Customized Assistance (3 per year), Unlimited Toll Free Telephone Support, Unlimited Replacement Parts, and Unlimited Emergency Visits. Software Support Agreement will consist of Unlimited Canberra Software and Documentation Updates Released, Unlimited Toll Free Telephone support, Unlimited Internet Assistance, Immediate notification of Critical Software Problems, Free Upgrade to Most Current Software Version, Free Shipping and Media Costs. The period of performance will be for twelve months. All responsible sources that can provide and meet the above requirements shall submit written quotations by the due date referenced above. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used for this requirement. Evaluation/Award will be based on the acceptable quote that offers the best value to the government. . The following FAR Clauses shall apply to this solicitation 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items.The award is being issued on a sole source basis because the products designed, developed and manufactured by Canberra are proprietary to the contractor with no resellers.
