- The U.S. Forest Service is interested in procuring 116 FS-14 main personnel parachutes. 113 will be manufactured according to drawing MTDC-922, 12 canopies will be small size, 28-foot nominal diameter, 620 square feet; 19 will be medium size, 30-foot nominal diameter, 710 square feet; 82 will be large size, 32-foot nominal diameter, 805 square feet. 3 canopies will be one each small, medium, and large, built to drawing MTDC-922, with the substitution of PIA-C-44378B, Type III - 1.17 oz/sq. yd (30 - 50 cfm air permeability) in Gores 4, 6, 22, 24. Parachute drawings will be provided on request. Manufacturing patterns are proprietary and will not be available until the contract is awarded. Patterns will be returned by the successful quoter at the termination of the contract. No copies of the patterns or additional canopies may be kept by the successful quoter. A first article inspection sample and material test samples will be required. F.O.B. USDA Forest Service, Aerial Fire Depot, 5765 W. Broadway, Missoula, MT 59808. This solicitation will be advertised under Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items and will be solicited under Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Quotes will be due on January 24, 2003. Delivery time is not to exceed 180 calendar days from time of award for all quantities.
