- NA The U.S. Army Communications Electronic Command (CECOM) intends a sole source negotiation contract to extend contract DAAB07-98-D-R311 ordering period from 30 December 2002 through 31 July 2004 to procure seventy five thousand (75,000) lithium mangane se dioxide (Li/MnO2) BA-5347/U batteries. This battery is the only non-rechargeable power source for the Thermal Weapons Sit (TWS). This is a restricted acquisition under the authority 10 USC 2304?(1) and FAR 6.302-1, One Responsible Source. A non-competi tive negotiation is proposed from Mathews Associates Inc. subsequently Battery Assembles of Sanford, Florida. A sole source award to Mathews is required to ensure that adequate domestic production capabilities are available to meet the peacetime and dep loyment readiness needs of the military until a competitive award is in place.
