Repair F108/CFM56-2B Fan Frame Weldment, Module #4. Anticipate award of a commercial one-year contract for 6 each. Applicable to CFM 56-2B F108 engines. Destination: Tinker Air Force Base OK 73145. Repair will be performed utilizing the ?on-condition? maintenance concept and consists of clean, inspect, rework/repair as required. Item Description: Fan Frame Weldment is a fabricated structural assembly consisting of concentric rings connected by radial struts. The material is steel alloy. Function: Fan Frame Weldment provides handling mounts and is the main forward support for mounting the engine to the aircraft. It provides ducting for primary and secondary airflows as well as support for the fan, booster and high pressure compressor rotors. Delivery: Item 0001: 6 each 30 days after receipt of order and reparable assets. Qualification requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. These qualification requirements apply to line item(s) 0001. Approved Sources: GE Engine Services, Cincinnati OH 45215 and Snecma Services, Paris, France. The approximate solicitation issue date is 24 DEC 2002. The approximate solicitation response date is 23 JAN 2003. The anticipated award date is 15 APR 2003. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation through FedBizOps at http://www.eps.gov/. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation that shall be considered. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304( c )(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
