- Description
- The Eglin AFB Small Business Office and 96th Communications Group are planning some Information Technology/Electronics Shows for early CY03. Tentative dates are 11 Feb and 25 March. The shows will be held on Eglin AFB at the Enlisted Club. Shows sponsored by the Small Business Office are the only ones allowed on Eglin at the current time. The emphasis will be on Information Technology, Communication and Electronics companies who have technology that has applicability to Eglin AFB. We are particularly interested in the following areas: information security, mobile computing, wireless communications, graphics/visualization development tools, storage area networks, GPS equipment, airborne instrumentation, and other technology that supports Eglin?s primary mission of research, development and test of conventional munitions. Eglin AFB has over 13,000 military, civilian, and contractor employees. Hq Air Force Special Operations Command, at nearby Hurlburt Field, is about the same size. The main emphasis will be on companies who can exhibit new technology; not simply resellers of off-the-shelf commercial equipment. The number of invitations to resellers will be limited. First priority for exhibitors will be given to small businesses and local companies; however, up to 10 large businesses (over 500 employees) will be invited to attend each show. The number of exhibitors will be limited to 30 for each show. The registration fee will be between $50 and $100, this will cover booth space, advertising for the event, and food for exhibitors and attendees. If you are interested in participating please e-mail information about your company and/or your web site to patty.uhrig@eglin.af.mil by 6 January. Please state whether you are interested in the 11 February or 25 March show and state whether your company is large (over 500 employees) or small. If there is enough interest shows will be held on both dates. Please do not respond unless you are available to attend on one of these dates. Attendance is by invitation only and more detailed information will be forwarded to invitees not later than 10 January.
