- The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisition Center is currently seeking sources that provide preanalytic processing analysis and result interpretation for clinical and anatomical pathology specimens. These services are commonly known as Reference Labs. Some of the testing includes, but is not limited to the following: clinical chemistry, hemotology, serology, microbiology, cytogenetics, immunology, endocrinology, toxicology, histology, virology, and cytology. Responding sources should address their ability to provide these services on a national or regional basis and they shall address their specific geographic coverage area. It is the intention of the Government to make multiple awards for these services that will provide multiple vendor selection for various authorized Government agencies nationwide such as the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. Firm-fixed price contracts with economic price adjustments are contemplated. The anticipated contract period will be a minimum of 5 years. This announcement constitutes a sources sought notice and market research. Information obtained as a result of this synopsis is for information planning purposes only. This does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Interested sources shall respond to this notice at their earliest convenience but no later than January 31, 2003. Responses will be accepted via regular mail, fax, or electronic mail.
