- Description
- The FDA has a requirement for operation, maintenance, and support services at the Muirkirk Road Complex in Laurel, Maryland. The facilities include three main buildings: Module I and II and the Beltsville Research Facility (BRF). The BRF facility consists of the main research building, a mechanical equipment building, a small block storage building, a maintenance building, three Hazmat containment units, one machine shop/fitness center building, and one steal storage building. These facilities total approximately 3,886 square meters. The research facility is presently being renovated and is scheduled for completion in September of 2002. Mod I is a four story building which has approximately 21,840 gross square meters of which 9,294 square meters is assigned usable. Mod I consists of laboratories, animal rooms and offices. Module II was dedicated in 1996 and was built using the most modern equipment to date. The main facility at Mod II is a three story building which consists of laboratories, office space and a small animal holding section. Also, associated with Mod II are 18 out buildings (excluding sheds and stables) totaling approximately 14,476 square meters. The successful offeror will furnish all labor, materials, and equipment in order to provide a full range of building operational maintenance and support services involving: alteration/repair and support services for mechanical systems consisting of a number of separate specialized heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and exhaust systems, electrical systems, and specialized equipment. The specialized equipment includes steam sterilization, clean steam humidification system and rack washing equipment, cart washers, laboratory glass washers and dryers, medical gas piping systems and numerous other items of built-in specialty lab equipment. The successful offeror will possess corporate expertise in engineering and management skills that can provide sound leadership. A fixed price contract is contemplated with a one year performance period with four (4) one year option periods. The procurement is designated as a full and open competition under NAICS code 561210 with a size standard of $20 million. Services for alteration and repair on an indefinite quantity are included. The indefinite delivery portion of the contract has an estimated total value of $3,600,000 if all options are exercised. The estimated maximum per delivery order is $100,000.
