Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region, hereby announces it's intention to award a non-competitive contract to Hartman Valve Corporation, 700 Capac Court, St. Louis, MO 63125, for replacement seals for two 100" butterfly valves at Anderson Ranch Dam, Idaho. Hartman's unique process secures the rubber seal to the bronze seals to allow the proper interface with the butterfly valve leaf, prevents circumferential movement of the rubber seal inside the bronze one, and allows the seal to flex in shear rather than compression, which extends the life of the seal. The seals at Anderson Ranch Dam have been leaking for many years, and Reclamation has been searching as long for ways to successfully replace the seals. Hartman invented, and has patented, a seal replacement system that has successfully solved similar leakage problems at other Reclamation sites. Reclamation feels the patented seal design is the answer to the leaking valves at Anderson Ranch Dam. Hartman currently has the patent for the seal replacement system which is the most practicable source for Reclamation's needs. The NAICS code 541720 and the size standard is 500. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 10 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on any responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
