- REVISED TO CORRECT WEB SITE FOR ACCESS TO DRAFT SPECIFICATION: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)is seeking industry comments on a DRAFT specification for Ground Based Transceiver (GBT)for Broadcast Services using the Universal Access Transceiver (UAT). The draft specification is available at http://www.alaska.faa.gov/capstone/phase2/gbt/gbtrfc.htm. FAA is particularly interested in comment related to any perceived "high impact" requirements in terms of cost and/or development time. Although not called out in the specification, the solicitation, when issued, will require vendors to propose software to enable a standard notebook computer (Windows-based) to interface with the GBT's Local and Remote Maintenance interfaces. This software must support all specified monitoring and control functions enumerated in the specification. Comments are to be submitted by December 20, 2002. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) and RFP-related questions are not being so! licited at this time. Questions received that FAA considers to be of general interest may be posted along with FAA responses on the same web site as the draft specification.
