Description
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (DHHS), through the Program Support Center, intends to negotiate a sole-source award with M. Crouch, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA. Purpose: The Technology Assessment Program (Center for Practice and Technology Assessment, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality [AHRQ]) provides technology assessments to the Coverage and Analysis Group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Technology Assessment Program provides scientific oversight for those technology assessments that are produced through contracts with outside organizations. The contractor shall (as followup research) develop a technology assessment on the diagnostics and treatment of obesity in the elderly, including diet, behavioral interventions, and surgical interventions. This technology assessment has been requested by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The functions to be performed are specifically outlined under the Requirements section below. THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT OR SUBMIT PROPOSALS WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
