- Description
- The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Management requires the services of a contractor for a 12 month period with four (4) 12 month option periods to provide interpreter services for persons who are deaf and hard of hearing. The offeror is to provide sign language/oral/tactile interpreting services to facilitate communication between deaf, hard of hearing and hearing individuals. The offeror shall provide sign language/oral/tactile interpreter services for the Department of Education's Central and Regional Offices in a variety of settings nationwide. The offeror must be able to provide interpreters for assignments within three business days notification for services in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, within four days notification for the Department's Regional Offices, and with same day notice for remote interpreting services. Interpreters must be able to understand the continuum of sign communications from American Sign Language and to Signed English and must be able to interpret/transliterate fluently from spoken English into sign and from sign into spoken English. The opening date to request a copy of the RFP is, Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Proposals are due on or before Monday, January 7, 2003. Request for copies of RFP OM-03-71 may be made by telephone, mail, telegram, Internet, or in person. All requests must reference the RFP number and tile of the RFP.
