Description
NA The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, intends to award up to two firm-fixed price contracts for construction services to build Access Control Gates PN 57477 and Cantonment Security Fence PN 57482 at Fort Riley, Kansas. A single c ontract may be awarded to one contractor, for both projects, or, a separate contract award may be made to different contractors, if it is determined to be in the best interests of the Government. The work includes, but is not limited to, the foll owing. -- Access Control Gates -- The project consists of construction of access control gates at 7 entrances to Fort Riley. Gates include guard booths, visitor center or guard center, embankment, roadway widening, parking, security lighting and barriers. Supporting facilities shall include utilities, curb and gutter to channel traffic, storm drainage and other site improvements including minimum landscaping and force protection/antiterrorism features. Design of erosion control facilities will be the respon sibility of the construction contractor. -- Cantonment Security Fence -- The project consists of construction of a perimeter security 6 ft. chain link fence w/3 strand barbed wire and 3 ft. concrete mow strip centered on fence. Construction of the security fence and construction of 12 ft. wide compacted rock inspection road will be located in strategic areas around the installation boundary. Construction includes approximately 166,500 linear feet of chain link fence, brush and timber clearing to establish 2 0 ft. clear zone outside of fence line and 30 ft. clear zone inside of fence line, cable barriers, buried conduits for provisions of future electronic monitoring, communication cable, electrical power, reestablished turf, storm drainage and erosion control . Design of erosion control facilities will be the responsibility of the construction contractor. This will be a full-and-open competition; the Government will consider all responsive bids submitted by responsible sources. Solicitation will be available on or about 04 December 2002. Bids will be due on or about 08 January 2002. The anticipated award date is on or about 24 January 2002. Estimated construction duration is 18 months. No formal site visit will be conducted, but prospective bidders may contact t he Corps of Engineers Area Office at 785-239-6461 to arrange access to the facility. The estimated magnitude of procurement, if awarded separately, is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 for each separate project. If both projects are awarded as a single co ntract, the estimated magnitude of this procurement is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000 (FAR 36.204 and DFARS 236.204). No telephone calls or faxes for solicitation requests will be accepted. This solicitation, including plans and specifications, will be issued in CD-ROM format only; hard copies will not be available. You must provide a valid surface shipping address (no P.O. Boxes) and a valid e-mail address. Security requirements at Fort Riley also require planhold ers to sign and return a security acknowledgement (provided at the website) in order to receive the solicitation. Only one copy of the solicitation will be sent to each registered planholder. Any amendments to the solicitation will be posted at the same we bsite (above) and registered planholders will be notified of any amendments via e-mail only.
