- Description
- The National Hansen's Disease Programs (NHDP) has a full and open competition acquisition for Research Support Services for the NHDP Laboratory Research Branch in multiple disciplines including molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, and pathology. The contractor will provide post-doctoral scientists, research associates, lab technicians and lab animal technicians as requested under task order issued against the contract. Work will be performed on-site at the NHDP Lab Research facility located in Baton Rouge LA using government equipment. For the contractor to be successful in providing the required support, demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the identified disciplines is considered essential. Contractor shall have previous experience in and the capability to provide 1) Management/supervision with M.D., Ph.D. or D.V.M. with research background working with infectious agents; 2) Management/supervision must have experience supervising biological lab technicians as well as doctoral candidate researchers and post-doctoral researchers/scientists; 3) Knowledge of safety testing and safety precautions for a biohazard Level-3 laboratory; and 4) Have access to and capability of recruiting high quality college graduates in related disciplines. A 12-month Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Task Order contract with four 12-month options is contemplated. It is the Government's intent to award a single contract. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 541710. This notice is not a request for proposals. The solicitation will be issued on or about December 2, 2002. It will be available at the Government website at www.fedbizopps.gov in the main menu under HHS, Offices, Health Resources and Services Administration, locations, HRSA/BPHC/National Hansen's Disease Programs, Baton Rouge, LA.
