- The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Support/Commercial Derivative Aircraft Program Office is planning the acquisition of an Undergraduate Military Flight Officer Training (UMFOT) System (T-39 replacement aircraft and ground based training simulators) and life cycle support with contract award planned in fiscal year 2004. NAVAIR is hosting an unclassified Industry Day on 10 - 11 December 2002 to provide an opportunity for early industry involvement in the Government?s proposed approach. Industry Day will be held at Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida in the Conference Center, Building 3249, BOQ Road. Our intent for the Industry Day is to allow interested participants and the Government an opportunity to meet and discuss government requirements and schedule, solicit discussion and feedback from industry regarding ways to improve the training system, and field general questions from industry regarding the acquisition and program. The proposed agenda, which is subject to change, will provide on Day 1: (1) an UMFOT program brief which will address the current program, training approach, and performance parameters for aircraft, radar, and Ground Based Training System (radar and cockpit procedure/emergency trainer); (2) an operations tour of the Pensacola UMFOT program; and (3) a question and answer forum. On Day 2 there will be an opportunity for one-on-one meetings between the Government and interested firms. Firms interested in attending the conference must register by 2 December 2002 by emailing the following information to the Contract Specialist POC (contact information below): Name(s) of Attendee(s), Company/Organization Affiliation, Address, Telephone Number, and Email Address. If applicable, please include an indication of interest for a Day 2 one-on-one meeting. It is imperative to have all attendees registered by COB 2 December 2002 to allow time for processing a base entry list. This invitation to participate in the Industry Day conference is voluntary and does not constitute an invitation for bid or a request for proposal. The information presented, available at the website for download, or provided in response to Industry Day will not obligate the Government in any manner. The Government will not reimburse the attendees for any cost associated with participation or attending the Industry Day, and is under no obligation to award any related contract associated with this event.
