Description
Scope of work includes but is not limited to the following work. Replace the two (2) existing steam boilers (and steam to hot water heat exchangers) with two (2) new 3600 MBH hot water boilers. New hot water building system shall be primary and secondary pumping. Provide new primary pumps and appurtenances, including pot feeder. Existing building pumps are to be replaced with new secondary pumps and appurtenances. Secondary pumping shall be variable flow with variable frequency drives for the new secondary pumps. Provide additional new expansion tank. Remove existing heat exchangers and condensate return unit. Replace the perimeter steam heating system in the first floor daycare center with a hot water system, replacing all heating elements. The work will be performed at the U.S. Customhouse located at 610 South Canal, Chicago, Illinois. The contract completion time is one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days from the receipt of notice to proceed. This is a negotiated best value procurement. It is set-aside to Small Business Concerns only. The North American Industry Classifications System (NAICS) code is 238220 with a size standard of $12.0 million. This NAICS code covers Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning contractors under the new code effective October 1, 2002. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $600,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about November 20, 2002. The solicitation includes Sensitive But Unclassified building information and will not be available on FedBizOpps. In order to obtain the solicitation, requestors must complete and sign the attached Document Security Notice to Prospective Bidders/Offerors. In addition, all of the following information must be submitted and /or provided by the requester via the spaces provided in the Notice. 1.) Copy of business license, 2.) Company?s Dun and Bradstreet number, and 3.) Valid Tax Identification Number. For persons picking up the SBU documents in person, a valid picture state driver?s license is required. All requests shall be submitted on the company?s official letterhead and submitted to General Services Administration, Attn: Johanna Lujano, 230 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, Illinois 60604. No telephonic or email requests will be accepted; however facsimiles will be accepted. The fax number is 312-353-0240. All solicitations will be issued on compact disc and mailed to the requester upon receipt and verification of required information.
