Description
The Direct Reporting Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault (AAA) has a requirement for development of Training Systems (including simulators) for the Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) program. Since the AAAV will be developed concurrently with the AAAV Training Systems, the development of both must be fully integrated to ensure maximum fidelity to vehicle performance. Complete access to the AAAV design, including ongoing changes through 2007 is required to ensure that the configurations of the vehicle and the simulators are congruent. Therefore, the Marine Corps Systems Command intends to contract with General Dynamics Land Systems (operating through its General Dynamics Amphibious Systems division in Woodbridge, VA), the developer of the AAAV vehicle for the development of the training system. The development work is estimated to take place during the period Fourth Quarter FY03 through Second Quarter FY06, and will include development and testing of four types of Training Systems (Driver Training System, Gunnery Training System, Maintenance Part Task Trainers, and Communications/ Navigation Training System) and delivery of the first unit of each of the systems. The development contract will also include development of curricula and Interactive Media Instruction (IMI). Any questions shall be submitted, in writing, to Ms. Denise L. Randolph, Contracting Officer, 991 Annapolis Way, Woodbridge, VA 22191 or e-mailed to RandolphD@aaav.usmc.mil. Mail sent using the Quantico address may be substantially delayed. See Note 22.
