Description
NA Serves as the Special Forces Group Advanced Special Operations instructor and coordinator. Acts as part of the Group Operational Control Element (OCE) and provides advice and assistance to the Group Commander?s Specialized Training and Operational Resourc e Management program manager on ASO planning, training, and operational issues. As part of the OCE, insures that required ASO information is coordinated and disseminated among required Group and Theater staff sections. Provides all ASO related training an d assistance to a minimum of 120 level III individuals and selected level II individuals to include select NAVSOF personnel. Evaluates level III and level II individual capabilities and provides the results to unit commanders. Provides Enhanced Force Pro tection training to selected individuals. Performs reviews and quality control checks on data, collection and Theater requests and provides assessments. Maintains ASO database and insures dissemination to deploying units. Ensures established policies and procedures are enforced. Uses a variety of software programs to accomplish the required missions and training. Writes a wide range of reports and documents, and presents briefings and presentations. Conducts independent research, analyzes information, a nd presents findings and proposals. Compiles, organizes, and maintains data in response to assignments using established procedures. Identifies research gaps and provide input to organize efforts to fill gaps. Conducts or participates in working groups or teams on major issues or operations. Qualifications-Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance -Ability to use a standard personal computer and standard Army software programs-Graduate of the Special Forces SWC ASOT Course-Graduate of the Specia l Force SWC ASOT Manager?s Course-Graduate of Instructor Training Course-Graduate of Individual Terrorism Awareness Course-Graduate of Antiterrorist Instructor Qualification Course-Graduate of Air Force Special Operations Responsible Officers Course-Minimu m of three years ASOT/ASO Manager experience at the Battalion or Group level-Minimum of seven years active duty Special Forces ?A? team time-Minimum of ten years active duty Special Forces time-Minimum of four years ASOTC instructor time-Minimum of seven y ears operational experience in the Pacific theater-Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. Performance Period: 1 January 2003 through 31 Decmeber 2003 with four (4) ine-year options.
